Sedona, AZ (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- Founded in the hills of Arizona in 1996, Canyon Calling Adventures for Women is the expert tour operator offering trips focused on amazing scenery, challenging yet attainable activities, and the enrichment and support of women in the outdoors. Canyon Calling is pleased to announce the Taste of Oregon itinerary, a new experience in adventure travel!
On April 11, 2015, Canyon Calling guests will meet in Portland, Oregon to begin six days of leisurely adventure and delicious cuisine and wine tastings. Beginning with an award-winning walking tour of Portland showcasing what makes the city so special including highlights such as the city’s streetcars, fountains, and food cart and art scenes. The following day, a combination bike and hike excursion has the group heading for the Historic Columbia River Highway which was competed in 1915. Once on their bicycles, guests will ride a scenic, paved ten miles through the Gorge. Throughout the ride, opportunities for short hikes to waterfalls abound as guests spot birds of prey such as osprey and bald eagles. Following an active day, a relaxing drive brings guests to the wild and rugged coast of Oregon, and Inn at Arch Rock in Depoe Bay for a two-night stay.
Day three brings a unique and exciting activity to guests – whale watching! Depoe Bay was specifically chosen for this itinerary, as it has been dubbed the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast.” The small group then travels to the coastal city of Newport, the “Dungeness Crab Capital of the World” for lunch and exploring the beach, followed by a drive inland to the beautiful little university town of Corvallis for wine tasting on the river.
Day four kicks off with a two-hour hike along Oregon’s rugged coast, viewing coastal wildlife and working up appetites for the next stop - historic downtown McMinnville, located in the Yamhill County wine region of Oregon’s lush Willamette Valley. The region is full of famous wineries’ tasting rooms and a vibrant foodie scene, which the group will explore before checking into The Flats for a two-night stay.
Day five offers a free morning to explore McMinnville. The charm of this quaint community will have guests inspired by the turn-of-the-century buildings that have been converted into trendy shops. The group will head for Left Coast Cellars for an unforgettable experience that includes a 3-wine tasting flight poured amidst the vines during this one hour tour of their estate, concluding with a barrel tasting in the winery, and followed by a delicious picnic. On the way back to McMinnville, the group may stop at another favorite winery for a tasting before enjoying a farewell dinner at the award winning La Rambla.
Price is $2,295 per person and includes 6 days/5 nights fully guided tour, all guide gratuities, all land transportation, deluxe hotel accommodations, all meals, wine tastings as noted in the itinerary, all activities and excursions, entrance fees and permits. Guests are responsible for transportation to and from Portland.
