Capital Market Exchange Participates in Study Organized by New England Venture Capital Association
Boston, MA (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- Capital Market Exchange was honored to be identified in a study organized by New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) on opportunities and challenges facing women entrepreneurs in the Boston start-up culture. Capital Market Exchange’s analytics aggregate and quantify current factors influencing the prices of investment grade bonds to provide professional investment teams transparency on emerging risks influencing the value of securities they are considering buying or selling. Sarah Biller, President of Capital Market Exchange noted, "NEVCA’s focus on women entrepreneurs and their contribution to the growth of Boston’s innovation culture is inspiring."
The NEVCA study concluded that women faced several challenges despite several measures implemented to improve the presence of women in the Boston start-up environment. The research revealed that the majority of the women entrepreneurs surveyed believe Boston’s startup culture is only sometimes inclusive, while others voiced concerns about raising capital. Only eight percent responded that being a woman was an advantage in finding venture capital. The other important finding revealed women were a minority on the management teams of start-ups. Biller said, "NEVCA’s research, led by C.A. Webb, comes at a very crucial time as more women start and lead companies focused on the hard sciences. There is a tremendous opportunity in Boston to build large, profitable companies, and NEVCA’s efforts are a first step to addressing obstacles faced by women led start-ups."
The New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) is a leading institution in promoting Boston’s top venture-backed, focused on promoting economic growth and entrepreneurship throughout the New England region.
