Car finance experts Car Loan 4U comments on the 3,000th sale of the Nissan Leaf in the UK
Macclesfield, Cheshire (PRWEB UK) 17 December 2013 -- Japanese car manufacturer Nissan continues to lead the way when it comes to electric vehicles, following news that its Leaf model has hit the 3,000 mark for sales in the UK.
The figure was confirmed after Nissan revealed that 141 new Leafs were registered in this country in November 2013, to bring it to the landmark total of 3,000 since the car was launched in 2011.
In regards to sales across Europe, the Leaf has sold over 16,000, and worldwide the figures are above 87,000 for sales.
The Nissan Leaf uses a 220 volt home recharger which means it takes four to eight hours to top the Leaf’s battery pack, while the range is estimated to be about 100 miles when taking into account driving style and traffic conditions.
Car Loan 4U Director Ryan Dignan, comments:
“Electric cars may polarise opinion, but one thing is for certain, the Nissan Leaf is far and away the most popular model of its type in the UK.
“To hit 3,000 sales is an impressive figure and shows that while not all electric models have generated high demand, the Leaf has certainly cornered the market.
“Nissan also confirmed that they have already sold 1,300 of its second-generation Leaf in only six months since the model was launched in May 2013, so it’s fair to say that they will be confident of sales increasing in 2014.”
