Care Continuum Alliance Announces New Board of Directors Members
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- Care Continuum Alliance (CCA), the leading advocate for population health management and wellness, announced today that it has added ten new Board of Directors members, including top executives of Accenture, Accountable Health, Alere, ASAP Brazil, HealthFitness, ICA, Noridian, Silverlink, Sun Health, and Viridian.
CCA members approved the new BOD appointments during a business meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the CCA Forum 2013, the Care Continuum Alliance annual meeting, on Thursday, October 24. Members also approved Fred Goldstein, President, Accountable Health, as Chairman.
New Board Members:
Michael Taylor, North America Managing Director, Health Management Consulting Practice, Accenture - Michael Taylor is a Partner at Accenture and Managing Director of the North America Health Management Consulting Practice. He has over 20 years of experience helping client-organizations achieve profitable growth and operational efficiency. As an operating executive in the national health plan, hospital system, and population health industries, he successfully led multiple market-changing innovation and strategic growth initiatives.
Gary Zegiestowsky, Chief Executive Officer of Informatics Corporation of America (ICA) - Gary Zegiestowsky is the Chief Executive Officer of Informatics Corporation of America (ICA). In late 2005, Mr. Zegiestowsky co-founded ICA along with Vanderbilt Medical Center to take technology developed at Vanderbilt to the broader healthcare market. Since founding the company in 2005, Mr. Zegiestowsky has grown the company to provide technology solutions in 15 states with more than 500 hospitals under contract.
Brenda Schmidt, MS, MBA, President and CEO – Brenda Schmidt is the president and CEO of Viridian Health Management and a faculty associate in the Arizona State University School of Nutrition and Health Promotion. As the architect of numerous successful health and wellness programs, Schmidt is widely recognized as an authority on developing best-in-class programs that engage diverse populations. In founding Viridian, Schmidt works in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on the National Healthy Worksite Program. This national initiative brings a new level of health to the American workplace to improve the lives of employees while lowering employer healthcare costs.
Andre Gibrail, Aliança para a Saúde Populacional (ASAP) Brazil – Andre Gibrail is part of the leadership team of the recently created Aliança para a Saúde Populacional of Brazil, a member of the Care Continuum Alliance.
Ronald D. Guziak, President & Chief Executive Officer, Sun Health – Ron Guziak is the President and CEO of Sun Health Services and Sun Health Foundation. He is responsible for leading a unique enterprise that includes a philanthropic community foundation, a real estate division that owns and operates life care communities and skilled nursing facilities and the parent company that manages a portfolio of over $240 million. In aggregate, the enterprise has assets of over $450 million and is growing. Guziak brings an entrepreneur’s spirit to Sun Health believing that best business practices must be applied to achieve strategic outcomes. While most of his career has been in health care, he credits his experience in developing a small start-up business into a successful industry leader as a true turning point in his career.
Craig Keyes, MD, MBA – President, Alere Health – Dr. Keyes became President of Alere Health in October 2012. He joined the company in March 2011 as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. A lifelong advocate of health and well-being, Dr. Keyes founded SportXcel, a youth sports performance and adult fitness enterprise in Metro Denver, which provides both commercial and charitable research-based fitness, conditioning and injury-prevention programs for youth, adults, seniors and elite athletes. Prior to SportXcel, Dr. Keyes held senior executive positions over a 10-year span with UnitedHealthcare from 1998-2008, including CEO-New York, CEO-Colorado/New Mexico, National SVP of Mid-Market Sales, and Chief Medical Officer of the 16 markets in the North Division.
Sean McManamy, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, HealthFitness – Sean McManamy is responsible for coordinating and creating alignment around HealthFitness’ long term growth strategy. He is responsible for overall sales and marketing functions for this $125 million health management organization. McManamy serves as a member of the executive leadership team, providing input into overall strategic direction of HealthFitness. Prior to HealthFitness, he was vice president of product development and marketing for fellow Trustmark subsidiary, CoreSource, where he was responsible for ongoing development of the company’s data analytics and population health management programs. McManamy built and managed ongoing delivery of a wellness and disease management product that became the fastestgrowing product in the company’s history. McManamy holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University.
Jan Berger, Chief Medical Officer, Silverlink – Jan’s passion is to use communications to engage, educate and empower patients in their health. She is considered a national expert in quality innovation, medication adherence, HEDIS improvement, clinical Star measures and consumer health engagement. With more than 25 years of business and clinical expertise, as well as broad international healthcare experience, Jan is regarded as one of the top thought leaders in healthcare. She is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, a frequent speaker on the national stage and is often quoted in the national press. As an active participant on numerous national Quality and Medication Safety committees, Jan has served organizations including the National Committee on Quality Assurance, the National Quality Forum, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and many others. She is editor in chief of the American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits.
Frederic Goldstein, President, Accountable Health – Fred Goldstein is the Founder and President of Accountable Health, LLC. He has over 25 years of senior management experience in the health care industry encompassing Disease Management and Wellness, HMO, hospital and physician group operations, strategic planning, mHealth, marketing, product development, network development, and government affairs. He received a BA in Zoology from U.C. Berkeley and an MS in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio Texas.
Sandeep Wadhwa, MD, MBA, CMO and VP of Care & Delivery Management, Noridian Healthcare Solutions – Prior to joining Noridian Healthcare Solutions, Sandeed Wadhwa was Vice President of Coding and Reimbursement Systems for 3M. He has more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare management and as a clinician. He served as State Medicaid Director of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, where he led efforts to reform the state’s Medicaid program by championing accountable care organizations, performance based payment, advanced medical home, evidence-based benefit design, and care coordination initiatives.
