Care to Care Appoints New Section Chief of Specialty Referral Guidance and Audit Programs
New Yok, NY (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- Care to Care LLC has appointed Jeffrey Dann, MD, MBA, as Section Chief of Specialty Referral Guidance and Audit programs. Dr. Dann will lead the programs with a focus on innovations that foster new ways to approach the complexities of specialty referrals through the use of Care to Care’s proprietary evidence based criteria. He will assist Michael Komarow, MD, JD, Care to Care’s Executive Vice President of Clinical Strategies, with health outcomes research as well as clinical integration into other programs including Radiology Benefit Management, Radiation Therapy Management, Cardiology Benefit Management and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Dann later obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Graduate School of Business with a specialty interest in health industry. Dr. Dann is a member of the AMA CPT Advisory Committee and American Urological Association Coding and Reimbursement Committee. He has been engaged with the AMA Relative Value Update Committee as an AUA Representative.
“The transparent, structured process used to develop Specialty Referral Guidance Evidence Based Criteria makes them easy to use and patient-centric," stated Dr. Komarow. “The Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines are derived from specialty society best practice guidelines and embedded into each clinical algorithm by specialty experts. Referral Guidance acts as a clinical decision support system by applying Evidence Based Clinical Practice Guidelines to each patient's specific clinical information. Furthermore, they also serve as an educational tool for physicians, physician extenders and patients. Specialty experts have carefully reviewed, rated and integrated a large amount of literature thus creating unbiased, evidence based recommendations on a wide range of clinical problems thus relieving providers of the burden of needing to read and evaluate the complex published information. Finally, Evidence Based Guidelines are a direct quality measure thereby allowing Specialty Referral Guidance and Audit programs to observe individual provider performance and improvement, as well as optimizing clinical practice outcomes.”
