Career Directors International (CDI) Seeks to Recognize Resume Writers and Career Coaches Who are Lifetime Achievers with Award
Melbourne, FL (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- The professional association of resume writers and career coaches, Career Directors International, has long been focused on promoting lifelong learning and a quest for excellence with its members and in the industry. To their highly recognized Toast of the Resume Industry award, Career Innovator award, and World’s Best Resume Writer award, they also celebrate Lifetime Achievement in the careers industry.
Right now, 2013 self-nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award are open, but it will be closing in just a few days.
Over the years, the award has changed and evolved. Originally, there were separate awards for resume writers and for career professionals, but as both specialties have merged and overlapped in the quest of providing better support and service to job seekers, so the award has changed in response. As of 2009, there has been a single, all-encompassing award offered, known as the Career Directors International Lifetime Achievement Award.
Recipients need not be both resume writer and career coach to qualify; it is simply a matter of excelling within the individuals' chosen specialties.
Now in its eighth year, the spirit of the award has not changed. It was established on the premise of distinguishing those individuals in the careers industry who have attained excellence through industry longevity, certification, continuing education, recognition and awards, mentorship/outreach, and affiliation.
CDI President, Laura DeCarlo, states, “CDI knew there needed to be a way to foster and recognize achievement in those who go the extra mile, give back, and continue to strive for excellence. The award represents a goal for professionals to achieve, a way to stand out, and a series of steps to pursue that keep the individual connected, learning, and thriving in their profession. CDI is proud to recognize its Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.”
But a lifetime achievement award could not be lifetime-worthy if it wasn’t without its mountain to climb. Since the award’s inception in 2006 only 12 individuals from around the world have attained the criteria:
Barbara Safani - Career Solvers - 2012
Darlene Dassy - Dynamic Résumé Solutions - 2011
Patricia Duckers - CareerPro Global, Inc. - 2011
Gillian Kelly, Career Edge - 2008
Mary Elizabeth Bradford, Career Artisan - 2008
John Donovan, CRS Resume Service – 2008
Don Skipper, Career Beginnings, Inc. - 2008
Tony Deblauwe, HR4Change - 2008
Gayle Howard, Top Margin Resumes Online - 2007
Annemarie Cross, Advanced Employment Concepts - 2007
Susan Guarneri, Susan Guarneri Associates - 2006
Laura DeCarlo, A Competitive Edge Career Service, LLC (now CDI’s President) - 2006
Recipients are recognized at CDI’s annual conference, The Global Career Empowerment Summit, which will take place this October in Orlando, Florida. They also receive a certificate, a logo to recognize their accomplishment, and a listing on CDI’s awards page.
