Career Step Releases New Infographic on the Growing Pharmacy Technician Industry
Provo, Utah (PRWEB) February 21, 2014 -- Career Step, an online school providing career-focused education, has released an infographic on the expanding pharmacy technician industry. The new infographic illustrates reasons for the thousands of new pharmacy technician jobs expected in the next few years and how to effectively prepare for these careers.
“It is easy to say the pharmacy technician industry is growing. We want to take it a step further and show people how and why it grows,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “Our new infographic is designed to give students all of the reasons why being a pharmacy technician is a great choice. There are tens of thousands of new jobs expected in the next few years and students can often expect increased pay, greater marketability, and more flexibility through certification. All of this makes being a pharmacy technician a great career option for individuals who want to start earning a good living quickly.”
The Pharmacy Technician infographic explores why the opportunities are increasing as well as standard pharmacy technician salaries. It breaks down many of the day-to-day tasks pharmacy technicians are responsible for, which includes preparing prescriptions and submitting insurance claims. The infographic also speaks to the flexibility of the career as many pharmacies offer night and weekend shifts.
“We truly want to help our students find careers they can enjoy and be successful in from day one,” said Ryan Ewer, Career Step Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing. “There is an incredible demand for certified pharmacy technicians, as illustrated by the infographic, but choosing the right training program is also crucial to being able to take advantage of those opportunities. Our Pharmacy Technician course includes the certification preparation and hands-on training that students need to be successful right from the start.”
Career Step is particularly familiar with the pharmacy technician field as the school has been training quality pharmacy technicians since 2010. Career Step’s Pharmacy Technician program was developed to prepare students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Exam by a board-certified pharmacist and pharmacy technicians with years of experience in the field. Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy also partner with Career Step to provide externs for locations nationwide, and managers have expressed appreciation for the high level of preparation Career Step’s students and graduates bring to the workplace.
