Career Step Teams Up with Army Wife Network to Offer $2,000 Scholarship for Military Spouses
Provo, Utah (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is proud to announce that it has teamed up with the Army Wife Network to offer a $2,000 scholarship to military spouses to encourage them to pursue higher education.
“We are very excited about this scholarship with Career Step,” said Tara Crooks, Co Founder of Army Wife Network. “Military members and their families make unique sacrifices for our nation and need to be empowered with resources to help them find education that fits their lifestyle. This opportunity with Career Step will make higher education more attainable for a deserving military spouse, providing the financial jump start they may need to gain the education necessary to improve their life.”
The scholarship offers $2,000 toward higher education at the college, university, or vocational school of the winner’s choice. Current spouses of active duty service members or veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or National Guard are welcome to apply. Applicants must submit an 800 to 1000 word essay on how they plan to use their education to benefit their family and community. Applications can be submitted at CareerStep.com/awn.
“Supporting and strengthening the military community is something we are very committed to,” said Career Step Military Liaison Tim Reynolds. “We are always looking for new ways to encourage and empower military spouses to reach their goals and dreams. This scholarship with Army Wife Network is one more way we can achieve that mission and provide tools that enable military spouses to improve their lives.”
Career Step and Army Wife Network have worked closely in the past to deliver resources and information to military spouses about education and various scholarship and funding options. This partnership was born out of both organizations’ efforts to support and strengthen the military community.
Career Step has been an active supporter of the military community for over 20 years. The school’s online training programs are an ideal fit for military service members and spouses who may be moving every few years—especially since the training prepares students for careers that are in-demand nationwide.
