Carlton Landing, OKLA Celebrates Completion of 100th Home
Carlton Landing, OKLA (PRWEB) June 23, 2016 -- Oklahoma’s newest town and lakeside resort reached a significant milestone at the beginning of this summer with the completion of its 100th home. The home finalizes the build-out of Carlton Landing’s “Cottage Court” on the north side of Firefly Park. It is owned by a family partnership consisting of Jon and Katie Dodson and Brian and Becky (Jon’s sister) Carlozzi. Currently residents of Oklahoma City, the Dodson and Carlozzi families plan to enjoy their Carlton Landing home as a weekend and vacation retreat.
“Jon and I have been close friends for many years and we are thrilled to welcome the Dodsons and Carlozzis as part of the extended Carlton Landing family,” says Grant Humphreys, Town Founder of Carlton Landing. Humphreys remembers that Dodson, who once was a community banker with Legacy Bank out of Hinton, Oklahoma, was instrumental in assisting home construction during the early days of Carlton Landing. “Jon was present at the unveiling of the Carlton Landing master plan back in 2008. In the following years, during the recession, most banks were unwilling to invest in rural land development projects. But Jon took time to understand our vision and went to bat for us. It turned out that Legacy Bank served as our sole lender for several years on more than 70 homes.”
Andres Duany and his team of 22 design professionals from 13 different countries planned Carlton Landing. Duany, a world-renowned urban theorist and town planner from Miami, Florida, previously crafted the original plan for the acclaimed Seaside and Rosemary Beach communities in Florida, in addition to more than 300 other town plans worldwide. An innovative concept for Oklahoma, Carlton Landing is the first new town that has been developed from scratch since early statehood.
Dodson says, “As a banker, I wanted to partner with developers who created unique and wonderful places and play a role in making their dream a reality, even during the financial crisis. Good places make for good business. Back in 2009, I was committed to seeing this deal get done so we could see home construction start in Carlton Landing. I’m so glad the vision for Carlton Landing has been realized, and we are looking forward to becoming the newest members of this special community.”
Over the past six years, Carlton Landing has dramatically grown its construction capacity, attracting top craftspeople and contractors to this part of the state. “We’re very pleased with the strong market value, construction quality and completion timeline we offer our buyers. And our construction program continues to strengthen,” Humphreys comments. “Six years from now, I hope to be celebrating the construction of our 500th home.”
ABOUT CARLTON LANDING
Carlton Landing is Oklahoma’s newest town. Grant and Jen Humphreys, the lakeside community’s first residents, founded the community in 2011. The town occupies one of Lake Eufaula’s most picturesque areas, with sandy beaches, towering cliffs, beautiful woodlands and some of the lake’s finest water quality. Famed planner and architect Andreas Duany, known for designing the Rosemary Beach and Seaside communities on the Florida panhandle, crafted the Carlton Landing master plan with Humphreys in 2008. Inspired by the New Urbanism movement—which holds that life, work and play are all central to a community’s vitality—Carlton Landing is the first development of its kind to become a distinct municipality. The master plan includes schools, a waterfront chapel, Nature Center, community parks, trails, and a town center with restaurants and shops. Plans call for more than 3,000 homes, a private residence club and a generational development timeline. For more information, visit http://www.carltonlanding.com.
