CarnaudMetalbox Engineering reach impressive manufacturing milestone, 1000th Bodymaker and 100th Die Necker produced
(PRWEB UK) 21 July 2016 -- 12th July 2016 marked a unique milestone in the nearly 100 year history of CarnaudMetalbox Engineering. CMB proudly celebrated the manufacture of the 1000th 5000 Bodymaker and the 100th 3400 Die Necker at its headquarters in Shipley West Yorkshire. A formal handover ceremony of the two machines followed by a dinner and entertainment at the Hollins Hall Hotel & Country Club. Guests from around the canmaking globe were joined by The Three Sisters Jazz band and International Rugby League legend Jamie Peacock MBE. Also joining the celebrations were Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Geoff Reid and Lady Mayoress Mrs Chris Reid.
This special day at CMB Engineering brought together key influential people throughout the canmaking world to its manufacturing facility in Shipley. Highlighting its manufacturing capabilities, key investments into machinery and technology and plans for the future. Demonstrations of the new 3D instruction manual and ordering system marked another step change in the usability of CMB machinery. Tours around the facility were undertaken by colleagues in various depts. explanations and demonstrations in areas such as Seamer Tooling, Assembly, Grinding, CNC Milling, R&D, The Academy and World Skills formed the main focus of the day alongside the handover ceremony.
Ultimately the day belonged to the 1000th Bodymaker and 100th die Necker presented to Tim Lorge of Crown, President of North American Beverage, by Andrew Truelove, General Manager of CMB ‘Today was a day of celebration of our past and present, but also a glimpse into the future. Achieving 100 Die Neckers and 1000 5000 style bodymakers is some milestone, even more remarkable given the timescales involved. A huge thank you to all those who attended, to our suppliers and of course our customers, but most of all to our dedicated and hardworking workforce that has made this all possible. We feel we are well placed to take on the challenges of the future and appreciate everyone’s support.’
