Carolina Farm Credit Announces Results of Director Elections
Statesville, NC (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- On September 30,Carolina Farm Credit completed the 2013 director election by mail after receiving 523 ballots. The members elected to serve a five year term are Joseph A. Lail, Cleveland County and E. Bernard Beck, Randolph County.
Joseph A. Lail, 58, of Shelby, N.C. is a full time farmer whose operation consists of corn, wheat, soybeans, and beef cattle. He is also a partner in Lail Hardware and Garden Center. Lail has been a member of the Carolina Farm Credit board for 16 years and served as Chairman for the past two years. He is a member of the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he serves on the long range planning committee and the budget committee.
E. Bernard Beck, 66, of Seagrove, N.C. is a full time farmer at Beck Farms, a beef cow/calf and hay operation. He has served on the board of directors for Carolina Farm Credit for nine years. Beck also serves on the boards of the Randolph County Volunteer Agricultural District, People Helping People, and Randolph EMC. He is a member of the Randolph County Livestock and Poultry Improvement Association, North Carolina AgriBusiness Council, AWARE Advisory Committee – Randolph EMC, and is a deacon at Oakley Baptist Church.
Members elected to the 2014 nominating committee are: Donald R. Smart, Haywood County; Kevin E. Lutz, Lincoln County; Jack F. Shore, Yadkin County; Robert H. Knox, III, Rowan County; Charles “Clifford” Elliott, Randolph County; Sam. I. Kiser, Jr., Alamance County.
On October 23rd, the board will hold an organizational meeting to appoint committee members and elect the chairman and vice-chairman.
