Under normal circumstances, the sensor probe that detects the vehicle is buried beside and at the end of the driveway at least thirty-five to fifty feet away from cross traffic. If cross traffic is closer than this, Cartell will false alarm. This requires the driveway be at least seventy-five feet in length.
But now available is a dual probe system that only senses vehicles that turn into the driveway. Cartell’s sensing device can now be just fifteen feet away from cross traffic with virtually no false alarms. This means homes on small lots and with shorter driveways may now use Cartell.
The dual probe system (called DriveGuard S.D.™) can be used with both of Cartell’s control units to offer a stand-alone system that will turn on lights, trip sounders, trigger cameras (and more) any time a vehicle enters the driveway.
