Casal Thaulero Gains Recognition for Producing Trebbiano with Surprising Ageability
New York, New York (PRWEB) December 09, 2016 -- Casal Thaulero (casalthaulero.it/en) is gaining recognition for producing magnificent Trebbiano — the medium bodied white wine with a unique 10+ year aging ability. Throughout October, the Casal Thaulero team traveled throughout the U.S. and Italy, educating U.S.-based press and trade on the surprising ageability of its star white wine.
In early October, U.S.-based press and trade had the special opportunity to experience the unique ageability of Casal Thaulero’s Thalè Trebbiano firsthand during two guided tasting seminars titled, “The Golden Age of Trebbiano.” Attendees in New York City and San Francisco enjoyed a vertical tasting of three Thalè Trebbiano vintages, first starting with the 2011, then moving on to the 2007 and 2004. Throughout the tasting, attendees commented on the Thalè’s distinctive straw to golden yellow color range, along with its noteworthy layers of Meyer lemon, butterscotch, and toasted oak that are able to evolve beautifully with time. The body and depth of the Thalè Trebbiano’s three vintages were perfectly paired with classic Abruzzen dishes including lamb ragu spaghetti chitarra, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken.
Later in October, a group of U.S-based food and wine journalists attended a press trip to Abruzzo, Italy where they were able to taste through Thalè’s three vintages while exploring the region’s unique mountain-meets-sea landscape. By the end of the week-long trip, several journalists commented on how surprised they were by the distinct body and depth associated with an aged Trebbiano.
It’s this depth of flavor that positions Casal Thaulero’s Thalè Trebbiano as the perfect white wine pairing to holiday turkey and other traditionally festive foods. So instead of reaching for another run-of-the-mill Chardonnay this holiday season, Casal Thaulero urges wine enthusiasts to pour Thalè Trebbiano — the star Italian white wine with a surprising 10+ year aging ability.
About Casal Thaulero
The Casal Thaulero (casalthaulero.it/en) name dates back to the sixteenth century when the noble Thaulero family first planted its roots in the heart of Italy: the Abruzzo region. Their vineyards can be traced back to a 1738 marriage agreement in which Don Francesco Thaulero gave his daughter, Angela Thaulero, a dowry consisting of a laundry list of assets, a handsome gift which included everything from the trousseau to the vineyards. Unfortunately, the vineyards remained dormant for years, until the late 1800s when Duke Giovanni Thaulero began restoring the property, planting new vines, and building a grand winery. With a penchant for experimentation and innovation, the Duke wholly devoted himself to his passion for winemaking, not knowing that he was building the foundation for Abruzzen viticulture as it is known and practiced today. Although the Casal Thaulero winery changed hands in 1961, the company remains committed to its time-honored winemaking practices, continuing to marry tradition with modernity. It is this steadfast commitment to hard work and innovation that led Casal Thaulero to become the first winery in Abruzzo to bottle wine with the esteemed DOC denomination. Hailing from noble Abruzzen beginnings, Casal Thaulero wines are now known and appreciated in over 30 countries around the world. It is a winery of passion and dedication, whose core mission can be summed up in a few simple words: The grape is the center of our universe, of our territory, of our life, of our work… of our hearts.
