Smyth Jewelers wished to update their outdated website, and in November 2014, Catalpha Advertising & Design launched the new site.
Smyth's major concern for the new website was that they needed a larger mobile presence to reach younger consumers. Catalpha Advertising & Design built a responsive website to meet the jewelers' needs. A responsive website is able to display the same information in the same format, whether it is being viewed on a mobile phone, tablet, or computer. Instead of having to build and maintain multiple websites, the company is able to reach all of its customers at once, regardless of the technology they use.

Some of the innovative features Catalpha Advertising & Design included in the new website include endless scrolling and a floating navigation bar. The endless scrolling eliminates the need to click "next" or "back" to view more products, and a navigation bar which follows the user down the screen keeps them from having to scroll all the way back to the top of the page. Adding a one-page checkout makes the purchasing experience easier for customers, resulting in fewer abandoned shopping carts.
The integrated custom ecommerce web design allows Smyth Jewelers to easily customize the website in different ways. They are able to choose a view they like, alternating between three and four columns, as well as showing the products in a mosaic view without requiring any additional coding. Also behind the scenes, Smyth Jewelers can easily update their blog, or their product pricing as well as show a countdown timer for sale products. The website is also custom-coded to update daily to reflect in-store inventory and price.
