Catapult Academy Opens Tampa Locations to Serve Hillsborough County’s High School Dropout Population
Camden, NJ (PRWEB) November 05, 2014 -- Catapult Learning announced the Fall 2014 opening of Catapult Academy locations in Tampa, Florida. As a Hillsborough County Public School selected provider for dropout recovery, Catapult Academy’s student centers provide services to the county’s high school dropouts, with the goal of improving graduation rates within the district.
Owned and operated by Catapult Learning, LLC, Catapult Academy serves students ages 16-21 who have struggled to complete their high school education and need an alternative solution to graduate. Located in student-friendly community-based settings, Catapult Academy provides a combination of small-group, teacher-led instruction, online learning, flexible scheduling, college admission guidance, and career coaching.
Catapult Academy’s program incorporates best practices and implements proven instructional intervention strategies perfected by Catapult Learning. Most importantly, caring teachers and guidance counselors support students to achieve every day and to earn the credits they need to graduate as soon as possible.
“There may be no one in these young peoples’ lives who can help them get back on track,” said Eurmon Hervey Jr., Ed.D., Catapult Academy’s Superintendent of Schools. “That is why Catapult Academy puts a major focus on motivation, support, and guidance towards the pathways to success, be it through higher education or workforce readiness.”
Over the past three years, Catapult’s Dropout Recovery Programs have graduated 947 students who have earned over $550,000 in college scholarships. Working as a partner with the Hillsborough County Public School District, Catapult Academy handles all aspects from managing local student recruitment efforts to providing the academic and social support. Two centers are now open at 4518 S. Manhattan Ave. (St. Patrick’s Church) and 325 W. Busch Blvd. A third is scheduled to open in December.
