Catapult Learning Announces First Graduating Class from New Dropout Recovery Academies
Camden, NJ (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- Catapult Learning announced the graduation of 260 students, all former high school dropouts, from Catapult Academy, its newly acquired dropout recovery service. The graduation ceremonies for the Catapult Academy Class of 2014 were held in Orange, Marion, and Gadsden counties in Florida and in Dougherty County and Thomasville, Georgia, with a final ceremony held in Jacksonville, Florida on June 9.
Owned and operated by Catapult Learning, LLC, Catapult Academy (previously known as Drop Back In) consists of 35 student centers that serve 1,200 student.. These centers, acquired by Catapult Learning in January 2014, serve students ages 16-21 who have struggled to complete high school and needed an alternative solution.
“This is a significant event; 260 students now have a real opportunity for better lives,” said Stuart Udell, CEO of Catapult Learning and past Chair of the National Dropout Prevention Center Network. “The possibilities of better jobs, college educations, and realizing their goals are now within their reach. Through a combination of small-group, teacher-led instruction and online learning, flexible scheduling, college admission guidance, and career coaching—all in student-friendly, community based settings—Catapult Academy is able to offer a second chance to students who struggled to succeed in traditional high school.
