CCAC Building Solutions Presents Energy Conservation Award to Summit School
Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) November 22, 2015 -- CCAC Building Solutions recently recognized Summit School in Winston-Salem, NC with their Award of Excellence for their Commitment to Energy Conservation. “By working with private schools throughout the state of NC, we understand many of the initiatives school want to achieve” said Robert Allison, CCAC Building Solutions President. “Our goal is to help improve educational environments by keeping students and staff comfortable as well as reduce energy consumption.”
Summit School became the first independent school in North and South Carolina to achieve certification in the LEED for Schools program of the US Green Building Council.
“We take environmental stewardship seriously. It is our duty to pay our debt forward to future generations, and that's one reason we're so pleased to partner with CCAC. They've done a great job helping the school to better monitor its energy consumption and be more environmentally responsible," said Parker Grubbs, Chair of Summit School's Facilities Committee.
Summit School was established in 1933 and currently sits on a beautiful 28-acre campus housing eleven instructional buildings. Summit’s facilities are built with the same sense of purpose that defines their curriculum. They teach and they inspire.
"CCAC was instrumental in helping to resolve an ambient temperature issue in one of our classroom buildings. Not only did CCAC fix the problem, but their solution resulted in a significant reduction in energy usage for that building. It’s a win-win, both making people more comfortable and reducing our utility bills," said DuWayne Amen, Director of Facilities.
