CCAR Announces New Learning Opportunities through Innovative Recovery Training Center.
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) July 30, 2014 -- While training the nationally recognized Recovery Coach Academy©, the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) gathered feedback and made plans to offer additional training opportunities for Recovery Coaches. CCAR made some difficult decisions on which topics to cover for follow-up trainings. As the role of the recovery coach takes shape across the country, CCAR learned that recovery coaches need to know more about themselves before fully supporting and mentoring someone else. In order to meet this need, CCAR now offers some exciting new learning opportunities through the Recovery Training Center.
Spirituality for Recovery Coaches
The purpose of this session is to help a recovery coach understand what spirituality is and how to help someone in their own process of discovering spirituality. This two day course teaches participants to speak about spirituality in a way that is accepting of others. Just like the RCA, this training challenges coaches to explore their personal understanding of spirituality. CCAR believes that spirituality plays an immense role in recovery and by completing this course, participants will be able to help those they serve to understand, accept and embrace spirituality for themselves. This course will offer a Training of Trainers component beginning in early 2015.
Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches (2.0)
CCAR will be piloting an updated version of our ethics curriculum in October 2014. When originally designed, CCAR sought to address a critical need amongst recovery coaches: the issue of ethical considerations. Ethics had been discussed in many circles yet formal training has been lacking. This newly revised program will explore ethical considerations that arise while coaching recovery and assist participants to make decisions that err on the side of the recoveree and err on the side of being genuine. Like Spirituality for Recovery Coaches, this course will offer an updated Training of Trainers component beginning in 2015.
E-Teach Learning Center
Over the next few months CCAR will roll out several new trainings, webinars and online courses for trainers of the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and CCAR Recovery Coach Graduates through an E-Teach Online Learning Platform. Courses will prepare Trainers with logistical information, curriculum updates and skill building sessions. Recovery Coaches will experience live "hands-on" tutorials providing reviews of CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© modules, more intensive skill-based exercises and developments in the recovery coaching field. For example, one webinar is titled," Your First Session with a Recoveree." CCAR will offer each webinar singularly or as part of a membership package.
CCAR is an approved training provider with the Connecticut Certification Board and will offer CEUs for each of these new learning opportunities. As a national recognized leader in the training of recovery coaches through the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©, CCAR has committed to providing coaches with a variety of ways to continue their learning. These courses not only build skills but provide participants with the hours needed to obtain, or maintain, certification as a Recovery Coach.
As always, CCAR opens their training sessions to anyone regardless of their recovery status, recovery pathway, length of time in recovery, or age. CCAR believes the offerings are best suited to those already trained through the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy©, however, anyone with experience as a recovery coach, or who is just starting out in this field is welcome.
