CCAR’s Bridgeport Recovery Community Center is Celebrating 10 Years!
Bridgeport, CT (PRWEB) August 06, 2016 -- The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is proud to announce the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Bridgeport Recovery Community Center on August 26, 2016 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the center located 49 Cannon Street (rear courtyard), Bridgeport, CT 06604.
On August 26, 2006 CCAR’s Bridgeport Recovery Community Center opened its doors. Ever since, it has been in the business of saving lives. The center is a place open to everyone who is looking to regain stability and get connected to recovery support services. It is a place where individuals can volunteer and give back to the community. Michael Askew, Bridgeport Recovery Community Center Manager wants to get the word out there about the center, he stated, “We want the Bridgeport community to know that there is a site available right on Cannon Street, to help people make a smooth transition between treatment and engaging back in to the community. It’s important, in the midst of an opioid crisis, to recognize and celebrate the victories people in recovery have made.” There are thousands of individuals in Connecticut living a successful, happy life in recovery. The Bridgeport Recovery Community Center is a place that gives hope and opportunity to reach beyond ones’ potential. “That is why we have lasted as long as we have, because we have a track record of helping and meeting peoples needs,” Askew continued.
The center is excited to be celebrating 10 years. Invited guests include U.S. Congressman Jim Himes, Senator Gomes, Senator Moore and DMHAS Commissioner Miriam Delphin-Rittman.
