CCAR’s First Annual Golf Tournament: A Great Success That Will Be Back for 2015
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) July 25, 2014 -- The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is proud to announce that its first annual CCAR Cup Tournament was an outstanding success. The event took place on June 18th, 2014 at the Hawk’s Landing Country Club in Southington, Connecticut. The day was blessed with good weather, great food, prizes, networking, and the strong spirit of the over 100 CCAR staff, volunteers, and golfers who attended. All of the money raised was used to support CCAR’s continuing mission to organize the recovery community to put a face on recovery and provide recovery support services.
During the awards dinner, Phil Valentine, Executive Director of CCAR, expressed his gratitude for the support of the committee, volunteers, staff, and golfers, stating that it was a true testament to CCAR. “I can’t begin to tell you how kind and compassionate the people are who helped today come together so beautifully,” said Phil. “We are so thankful for everyone who made today possible, and cannot wait for next year’s tournament.”
A special thanks to the Recovery Network of Programs for being this year’s top sponsor. The planning is already underway for next year’s tournament, and CCAR encourages those interested in playing in the 2015 Cup to register early. Since 1998 the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) has organized the recovery community (people in recovery, family members, friends and allies) to put a face on recovery and to provide recovery support services to help sustain recovery. By promoting recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction through advocacy, education and service, CCAR strives to end discrimination surrounding addiction and recovery, open new doors and remove barriers to recovery, maintain and sustain recovery regardless of the pathway, all the while ensuring that all people in recovery, and people seeking recovery, are treated with dignity and respect. CCAR envisions a world where the power, hope and healing of recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction is thoroughly understood and embraced. For more information, visit http://www.ccar.us.
