CCAT Announces New Board of Directors Member and Committee Appointment
East Hartford, CT (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) today announced the election of Michelle Allinson, president, Cursor, LLC and part-owner/vice president of sales and marketing, Aerospace Alloys, Inc., to the CCAT Board of Directors, and the appointment of recently elected Board member Kevin B. Flanagan, vice president and co-owner, Flanagan Industries, Inc., to the position of Audit Committee Chair.
Allinson’s experience spans industrial engineering, multi-million dollar project management, and manufacturing optimization. In 2007, she purchased Cursor, which serves the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Navy and General Dynamics in the acquisition of specialty metals. That same year, she joined the family business, Aerospace Alloys, which specializes in supplying component parts for the aerospace industry, with a focus on heat exchanger component parts. Allinson holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University, and is a Supplier Management Council Board Member of the Aerospace Industry Association.
Since starting with the company in 1982, Flanagan has led the global expansion and diversification of Flanagan Industries, a 69-year-old family business that specializes in the manufacture of large diameter machined cases that are used in both the aerospace and land-based gas turbine industries. The company’s major customers include Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, U.S. Department of Defense, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power Systems, and global companies in Belgium, Germany, Austria and Spain. He is past-president of the Glastonbury Rotary Club, was named 2013 Business Person of the Year by the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce, and is also a former member of Rockville Bank’s Advisory Board.
