CCCSMD announces new Maryland-based partnership with NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS ® and Howard County Association of Realtors
CCCSMD's new program is sponsored by a $10,000 grant from Howard County Association of Realtors® (HCAR) that was awarded to them by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), and will support homebuyer education in Howard County over the year and include a total of 30 workshops serving 450 participants. These workshops will be delivered in person and via webinar to provide easy access to anyone.
COLUMBIA, Md., Oct. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Maryland and Delaware (CCCSMD) will begin offering free homebuyer workshops in Howard County, starting in November 2019. This new program is sponsored by a $10,000 grant from Howard County Association of Realtors® (HCAR) that was awarded to them by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), and will support homebuyer education in Howard County over the year and include a total of 30 workshops serving 450 participants. These workshops will be delivered in person and via webinar to provide easy access to anyone.
"Howard County is an attractive and dynamic county, yet expensive to live in, but there are a lot of incentives and local programs that prospective homebuyers should know about," said Jessica Coates, CEO, HCAR.
The organizations were introduced by Laurie Benner, Director of Housing Programs for Maryland REALTORS®.
"This great partnership brings together real estate industry professionals and non-profit advocates to provide valuable guidance to consumers and support homeownership," said Benner.
The workshops will join housing experts including Realtors, lenders, closing/title companies and home inspectors to help present the information. They will also aim to reach diverse audiences.
"Howard County is a very diverse county, and the current plan is to offer multi-lingual workshops. We will start with English and Spanish with probable expansion in 2020 – possibility of Korean and Hindi," said Helene Raynaud, President and CEO, CCCSMD.

CCCSMD is a US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-Approved National Intermediary and the six-hour workshops plus a personalized one on one pre-purchase counseling session meet the requirements to obtain a Homebuyer Certificate.
