CDC: Circumcision Reduces Risk of Getting Herpes by 30 Percent; CBCD Reviews a Report
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- “Infected with the herpes virus (HSV)? The CBCD recommends taking Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD
The CDC has released draft guidelines “that recommend that doctors counsel parents and uncircumcised males on the health benefits of the procedure.” (1) This is because numerous studies, “many done in sub-Saharan Africa, have demonstrated that circumcision reduces HIV infection risk by 50 percent to 60 percent ... (and) ... also reduces by 30 percent the risk of contracting herpes and human papilloma virus (HPV), two pathogens believed to cause cancer of the penis.” (1) Dr. Jonathan Mermin said that “the scientific evidence is clear that the benefits outweigh the risks.” (1) Dr. Mermin is the director of the CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention. Circumcision involves the surgical removal of the foreskin covering the tip of the penis. Germs can collect and multiply under the foreskin, creating issues of hygiene. The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) is encouraged by the CDC’s new guidelines for disease prevention. However, circumcision does not help infected men. The CBCD therefore recommends that HSV infected individuals take Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR. These natural antivirual products have a formula that was shown to reduce herpes symptoms in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.

The formula of Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the herpes simplex virus, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HSV … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (2) The study authors also wrote that, “We observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (2)
Both products can be ordered online on the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR websites.
Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.
Some studies have recommended medical male circumcision (MMC). One such study noted that circumcision reduces disease risk “through reduction of cofactors, such as herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2).” (See The Journal of Infectious Diseases, from December 1, 2013) (3) Dr. Mehta and colleagues wrote that “in Rakai, Uganda, circumcision resulted in a 28% reduction in HSV-2 acquisition similar to the 30% reduction in HSV-2 incidence observed among Orange Farm, South Africa, MMC trial participants.” (3) Dr. Mehta and colleagues are from the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health.
Are there drugs or vaccines that prevent a herpes infection?
There are no approved drugs or vaccines that prevent a genital herpes infection.
There are “two types of antiviral treatments against HSV, which are currently available: topical and oral. The treatments include penciclovir, acyclovir, famciclovir, and valaciclovir. However, their effectiveness is limited. For instance, a meta-analysis of five placebo-controlled and two dose comparison studies evaluated the effect of aciclovir, famciclovir or valaciclovir on symptoms. The meta-analysis showed that oral antiviral therapy decreases the duration and the associated pain of an outbreak by merely one day.” (2)
There are also two natural herpes remedies called Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR, with a formula, which was shown to reduce herpes symptoms in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.
“We agree with the CDC’s new guidelines. We also recommend Novirin or Gene-Eden-VIR to already infected individuals.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD
