CDISC & One Mind Host Benefit Supporting Post-Traumatic Stress and Mental Health Research

Austin, TX – 17 February 2016 – Two global nonprofits, the Austin-based Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) and Seattle-based One Mind have partnered to host Cowboy Up!, offering an evening of education and entertainment to support efforts to find new and better treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Major Depressive Disorder and other Mental Health Disorders. This event is intended to bring further attention to disorders that affect tens of millions of people each year. The event will take place in Austin on 03 March 2016 at the Texas Medical Association, Thompson Auditorium from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Cowboy Up: An Evening of Collaboration for PTS & Mental Health Research is open for registration at this time. The event will include presentations from mental health experts, including retired Army General Peter W. Chiarelli, CEO, One Mind; Clay Johnston, MD, PhD, Dean of Dell Medical School; Sergeant 1st Class Victor Medina; and Roxana Delgado, PhD. The event will feature live music from local artists, including singer-songwriter, Sam Baker, Grammy-nominated Artist, Eliza Gilkyson, and musician Doug Bossi, who has composed a special piece for the event.

“Cowboy Up! is designed to be a fun event with a critically important cause highlighting the importance of a common, standard way of sharing research to discover new treatments in the field of mental health that could benefit millions of patients around the world,” stated Nicole Harmon, PhD, COO of CDISC. “With this event, CDISC and One Mind are pleased to announce our continued collaboration through the development of additional standards for PTS and Major Depressive Disorder.
