Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) June 05, 2015 -- CE Broker, Inc. is now the official continuing education tracking system for the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy (ASBOT). That brings CE Broker to six state agencies nationwide with four more on the way in the next four months. CE Broker will have 1.2 million active licensees in its system over the next two years.
In a no-cost contract, CE Broker now tracks continuing education (CE) hours for all 2,500 occupational therapists and assistants in Alabama and determines CE compliance status for license renewal.
Alabama occupational therapists & assistants are required to complete anywhere from 10 to 30 hours of continuing education every two years. There are required subject areas and delivery methods that can change based upon license type that make requirements complex. The board can also change these requirements when new developments in the field emerge.
Currently, healthcare professionals are required to mail in copies of certificates of completion before they are allowed to renew their licenses. Board staff are burdened with paperwork and the licensees often find out they have not actually met their CE requirements. With CE Broker, licensees will be entering CE course completions electronically through the tracking system and will know when they are complete. The board can then instantly verify that all CE requirements have been met.
"I'm excited the board in Alabama has chosen to work with us and simplify the impact of CE regulation on their occupational therapists," says Brian Solano, CEO of CE Broker. "Together, we'll modernize their process for compliance monitoring and give their therapists the support they need to understand and meet their CE requirements."
CE Broker offers free iPhone and Android apps that licensees use to see their requirements, check their CE Compliance status and report continuing education hours. Once all requirements are met and hours are posted, licensees will be able to renew.
CE Broker also employs a full-time support center available via phone, live chat, and email to help licensees fulfill their hours on time, and all of this is provided at no-cost to the State. The company funds their operations by offering voluntary subscription services to healthcare employers & licensees.
"Just as Turbo Tax has simplified filing taxes for millions of people each year, we are doing the same thing for continuing education," says Solano. "You can choose to do your taxes on your own, but why do that when there are so many great inexpensive services out there that make it easier?"
CE Broker was founded in 2004 to track continuing education for the Florida Department of Health and is based in Jacksonville, Florida.
