CED Tech Venture Conference 2013 to Focus on Iteration and Growth
Durham, NC (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), the Southeast’s largest entrepreneurial support organization, announced its roster of demo companies and speakers for the 29th annual CED Tech Venture Conference 2013 (http://www.cednc.org/?TechVenture2013). Taking place September 17 – 18th in the Raleigh Convention Center, the conference connects the Southeast entrepreneurial community to funders, corporate M&A executives, CEOs and journalists. This year’s event runs in tandem with the Angel Capital Association (ACA) Southeast regional meeting (http://www.cednc.org/?page=ACAMain), further expanding the number of investor attendees.
“CED Tech Venture Conference 2013 is bound to inspire entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives and community advocates,” said Dhruv Patel, CED’s program director. “We’ve assembled an impressive array of successful entrepreneurs, new and growth stage startups, speakers from N.C. and across the country, and a myriad of networking opportunities. Our ongoing goal is to promote high-growth, high-impact companies, and the Tech Venture Conference will do just that for nearly 700 expected attendees.”
Speakers at the conference include:
• Kick-off by N.C. Governor Pat McCrory;
• Opening keynote by Bob Dorf, author of the acclaimed Startup Owner’s Manual;
• Day 2 opening keynote by James H. Shelton III, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement, Department of Education;
• CEOs from ZipCar, SecureWorks, Veracode, SciQuest and Bandwidth;
• M&A executives from Citrix, IBM, Google, Red Hat and Stifel;
• Closing keynote fireside chat with Pete Bell, Founder of Endeca ($1.02B Oracle acquisition), and David Berlind, Editor in Chief of Programmable Web.
Entrepreneurs attending the conference and all CED entrepreneur members are invited to a free luncheon September 17th featuring a panel of national technology press from ABC-TV, Infoworld, PCWorld and more. Prior to this luncheon, a workshop for angel investors and entrepreneurs will feature Bob Okabe outlining Trends in Raising Capital.
Fifty-five Demo companies, each of which has an exhibit table and stage time, represent the region’s top early and growth stage firms.
