Cedric Ceballos and Abishek Bachchan to Host the World’s Largest Basketball Tournament in Chennai, India
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- From January 12-19, there will be a new game in town as Catholic Sathyabama University in Chennai, India, plays host to the world’s largest men’s knockout basketball tournament. Teamed up with the Universal Basketball Alliance of India Pvt. Ltd., which is owned by US Corp University Basketball Association of India Inc., or UBA, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is proud to provide this exciting athletic opportunity for 214 of India’s largest universities.
NBA All-Star and 1992 Slam Dunk Champ Cedric Ceballos and Indian actor/producer Abishek Bachchan will host this exciting event, and Stephen Graham, along with an award-winning crew, will televise it live, play by play, to national Indian television. India is quickly emerging as a sports arena powerhouse, hosting events for high-profile sports leagues in cricket, soccer, badminton, and kabaddi. Now American basketball is ready to score a slam dunk with Indian viewers.
This Inter-Zonal All-India University Annual Tournament is the most comprehensive on the planet, as it encompasses nearly 10,000 colleges. “It is an honor to be here,” said Ceballos. “This is a challenge for passion, this is a challenge for teamwork, and it is also an opportunity for dreams to come true.” Ceballos is best known for playing with the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an NBA All-Star in 1995.
