Celebration of new Snow Bell Rockin’ Nights with a musical, seemingly magical snowfall-show debuts Friday, November 29, 2013, at 7, 8, and 9 p.m., and continues every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night through January 4, 2014, in Southern California Wine Country’s Old Town Temecula historic district. The Temecula Valley Old Town celebration also highlights seasonal menus featured in Old Town restaurants with premium Temecula Valley wines; theatrical productions of The Nutcracker Ballet, and Christmas Carol: The Musical; outdoor ice-skating, wine tasting, live music, and special events like Santa’s Electric Light Parade, Holiday Taste of Old Town, and Winter Wonderland.

The new show is a gift from the Temecula Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau (TVCVB) and the City of Temecula to all Temecula Valley visitors and residents. This genuinely promises to be a wonderful Winterfest holiday season to remember,” said Kimberly Adams, TVCVB president and CEO, in making the announcement. “Less-busy Sunday-through-Thursday nights are especially appealing,” Adams added. “Temecula hotels and resorts offer special (better-than-weekend) nightly room rates, and with Old Town Temecula, Temecula Valley Wine Country, Pechanga Resort & Casino, and Temecula Wine Country Golf Trail, there are many quality experiences to share.” Many Temecula hotels will host hot cocoa and cookies during the celebration. Recalling California missions’ role in establishing vines and winemaking in the Golden State circa 1770, the majestic mission-revival style Temecula Civic Center is venue for the Snow Bell Rockin’ Nights show. Synchronized with the clock tower’s holiday bells, the seemingly magical snowfall-show debuts November 29 (7, 8, and 9 p.m.), and continues Thursday-Friday-Saturday nights through January 4.

Along Old Town’s main promenade, 30,000 twinkling lights glow, nightly; shops feature holiday displays.

At Baily’s (dinner nightly), starters include baked brie with spiced-orange marmalade; entrées, grilled rib-eye steak. At Gambling Cowboy (dinner, Tuesday-Sunday), menu includes barbecue-braised short ribs, poblano-chile risotto. Palumbo’s Ristorante (dinner, Tuesday-Sunday) features garlic-and-rosemary-rubbed, grilled lamb chops with spaghetti, fresh spinach, sun-dried tomato. Tapa-wine bar, Parea features specialties like Mediterranean pearl-couscous; moussaka; soy-ginger-citrus, grilled salmon. Public House (dinner nightly) features bleu-cheese-pecan crusted Blaine Mignon; Stroganoff Revisited. By advance reservation at The Bank, dine in The Vault; starters include fresh ceviche; entrées, carné asada; camarones (garlic-shrimp). All feature premium, award-winning Temecula Valley wines.
Robin’s Nest Desserts (Wednesday/Thursday, 5-9 p.m.; Friday/Saturday, 5-10 p.m.) offers proprietary-recipe Carrot Cake with signature-recipe, cream-cheese frosting.

Old Town’s welcoming wine-tasting rooms include Lorimar Loft (Monday-Thursday until 8 p.m.; Friday/Saturday, 10 p.m.; Sunday, 7 p.m.), featuring new-release 2011 Vivace (estate-Sangiovese); 2010 Nocturne (estate-Syrah); also, 2008 Port-style Dolce Vita.
