Celebrated ADR Expert James Purcell Named Keynote Speaker at the Opal Events Risk Forum
Hyannis, MA (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- After a career as a top litigator, a highly-placed executive in the healthcare industry, and currently an in-demand alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professionals working in the healthcare industry, James Purcell has been selected as a Keynote Speaker at the prestigious Opal Events Risk Forum in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Purcell’s appearance is scheduled for April 24, 2014. The Forum attracts the top echelon of healthcare executives and professionals from around the country.
Mr. Purcell will speak about risk adjustment, payment neutrality for FFS, Medicare Advantage, and ACOs. “The American healthcare system is experiencing a complete transformation,” said Purcell about the honor. “Healthcare reform is forcing payers and providers to change delivery modes and how care is paid for, resulting in tremendous uncertainty. A graduate of Boston University Law School, Mr. Purcell began his career as a litigation attorney and worked closely with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI), eventually becoming that organization’s Chief Executive Officer. His interest in ADR led him concurrently to an increased focus on that aspect of conflict resolution, and he founded his own mediation and arbitration practice in 2012 upon retiring from BCBSRI.
Today Mr. Purcell is a leading dispute resolution expert in the nationwide healthcare industry, using his “inside out” professional experience to resolve conflicts involving hospitals, professionals, patients, ACOs, and other organizations.
