Celebrating Maryland with Classics & Crabs
HAGERSTOWN, MD. (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- The Maryland Symphony Orchestra, headquartered in Hagerstown, Maryland, announces a partnership with Flying Dog Brewery of Frederick, Maryland to present Classics and Crabs, a one-of-a-kind event to celebrate “all things Maryland.” During this unique event on Saturday, September 17, 2016, ticketholders will enjoy an outdoor beer festival, a concert held inside the historic Maryland Theatre, and all-you-can-eat crabs and buffet presented under the stars on South Potomac Street.
“We wanted to create an experience that would resonate with a wide-range of audience members, so what better theme than our shared love for the state of Maryland?” says Michael Harp, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. “Our orchestra is very proud of our Maryland heritage, so we tried to identify event partners who shared that same level of state pride. Flying Dog Brewery was a clear choice in that category.”

Our sense of Maryland pride runs deep, so this event immediately appealed to us.”
Classics & Crabs will kick off at 3 PM in the courtyard of Maryland Theatre with samples from several unique brews, including the Maryland-inspired, Dead Rise OLD BAY® Summer Ale. After entering the theatre at 5 PM, guests will enjoy a new take on classical music from the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and Time for Three, a guest artist who often describes themselves as a “classically trained garage band.” The concert will feature music from Grammy®-nominated composer Chris Brubeck as well as Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5.
Following the concert, guests will spill out onto South Potomac Street at 7PM to indulge in all-you-can-eat crabs and a buffet of local Maryland favorites. Additional Flying Dog beers will be available for purchase along the street, and the Maryland Theatre concession stand will be open for assorted wines and light beer.
