Celebrating National Scoliosis Awareness Month at Scoliosis 3DC
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 31, 2015 -- Scoliosis is a three-dimensional condition of the spine and ribcage that is often diagnosed during adolescence. Scoliosis 3DC offers a nontraditional yet effective approach to scoliosis management – teaching curve-pattern-specific exercises and skills that individuals with scoliosis can incorporate over a lifetime. It is important to take action at an early juncture when scoliosis is diagnosed so that children can learn to limit the likelihood of progression and surgery.
The programs offered at Scoliosis 3DC are modeled after the German Schroth Method program but are offered on an outpatient basis and can be completed over the course of four to seven days. The focus is to educate, enable and empower each patient so that they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to manage scoliosis over their lifetime, without surgical intervention.
Upcoming releases for Scoliosis Awareness Month will feature a series of blogs focused on parental and patient education. The blog series will include titles such as, “How parents can screen for scoliosis at home,” focusing on the signs and symptoms parents should watch for and when. That important feature will be followed by a three part series on mild scoliosis and will include advice on the benefits of taking a proactive approach rather than the traditional ‘watch and wait.” Other themes will include the benefits of three-dimensional bracing for scoliosis, living with scoliosis as an adult, and why surgery may not be the best solution for scoliosis.
