Celebrity Business Analyst Lists Five Top-Grossing Adam Sandler Movies
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 27, 2013 -- CelebrityBusinessAnalyst.com released a list of Adam Sandler’s top grossing movies today. Inspired by a report in the Business Insider posted on July 15, the list includes numbers for the films’ lifetime domestic grosses. Though Sandler’s movies usually don’t go well with critics, they still make money. Like many major movie stars on the Hollywood walk of fame, Sandler has become more of a brand than a mere movie star. Here are five films that have supported Sandler’s brand over the years.
Big Daddy: In first place on Sandler’s list of moneymakers is this 1999 film. Available for viewing through a cable or satellite tv provider, the film has a domestic gross of $163.5 million, even though it only had a 40 percent approval rating from critics.
Grown Ups: With just a 10 percent approval rating, this 2010 film defied odds and went on to gross $162 million in the United States. It appears that the sequel that is currently in theaters will have the same destiny. It has a seven percent approval rating and had a better opening weekend than experts had predicted.
The Waterboy: This 1998 film had a somewhat higher approval rating at 32 percent, but it still won at the box office with a lifetime domestic gross of $161.5 million.
The Longest Yard: A 2005 remake of a 1974 Burt Reynolds film, The Longest Yard scored a mere 31 percent with critics. Even so, at $158.1 million, the film’s domestic gross proved its success.
Hotel Transylvania: Sandler provides the voice of Dracula in this 2012 animated film. Riding the coattails of comedic animated family movies like Despicable Me, Hotel Transylvania made $148.3 million domestically. Its critic rating was 43 percent.
Celebrity Business Analyst concludes that though Adam Sandler’s movies remain unpopular among critics, they tend to do well with audiences everywhere. Fans of Sandler’s brand know what to expect from him, and reviews won’t stop them from supporting his movies.
