Celebrity Stylist Dawn Shannon Helps Sunscreen Film Festival Celebrate 10th Anniversary in Style
St. Petersburg, Florida (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- Dawn Shannon’s Intuition Salon & Spa will be donating their services for the fourth year in a row to the Sunscreen Film Festival being held April 30th through May 3rd in St. Petersburg, Florida. Each year Dawn Shannon provides hair and makeup for the celebrities attending the festival as well as models who add an air of Hollywood flair to the event. This year is no exception with Shannon joining together with Marina, the owner of ARTpool, a local vintage fashion store, who will personally dress the models to match the various themes throughout the festival.
“This is one of my favorite things to do. I love working with celebrities and film festivals, they are fun.” said Shannon. “Film is like fashion, they are both visual, both have motion ... and I just can't imagine what films would be like without costume designers and professional, artistic hair and make-up people. Besides, I really enjoy volunteering our time and services to help promote the film industry in the Tampa Bay area."
Having worked on national magazine cover photo shoots as well as having clients who include quite a few TV and movie personalities, Shannon loves to bring the same friendly and relaxing environment she provides to celebrities to every client that frequents her salons. She wants every client to feel like a star.
In addition to celebrating 10 years as a premier film festival, Sunscreen has welcomed a new festival director for 2015, Dwight Cenac II. According to a recent press release, Cenac succeeds previous director and co-founder of the organization Tony Armer. Cenac has worked in the film and television industry since 2000. He is the vice president of Indyoh Inc., a film and television distribution company, and Crown Films Production Company based out of Jacksonville. He has produced and directed feature films, commercials and digital content for clients such as CBS, the United States Postal Service, University of North Florida and the United States Navy. He has deep ties within the film festival world having participated in the Cannes Film Festival and the American film market, and more. He has worked with Sunscreen in various capacities over the years and is intimately familiar with the event.
"The Sunscreen Film Fest is a premier film festival in this country,” Cenac said in a press release. “The opportunity to lead this event and organization is truly an honor. I look forward to continuing its growth and building on the established success of the organization."
