Celebrity Tweet Leads Pujols Family Foundation to New Partnership
Brentwood, Tenn. (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- Swiftwick, a leading athletic performance sock company, recently announced their partnership with the Pujols Family Foundation by donating socks from the PERFORMANCE™ line for the 2015 Pujols Family Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic on June 29, 2015. This tournament will be hosted by Matt Holliday, left fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Thanks to the power of social media, the conversations for this partnership began a few weeks ago. During a golf tournament, George Lopez, a longtime fan of the Swiftwick brand, tweeted a picture of Albert Pujols wearing the socks at the 13th Annual Albert Pujols Celebrity Golf Classic on May 11th in Southern California.
“Swiftwick is thrilled to work with an organization that helps others pursue their passions,” said Chuck Smith, president of Swiftwick. “We are thankful to George Lopez and the Pujols Family Foundation for giving Swiftwick the opportunity to help make a difference for those in need.”
Albert Pujols, first baseman for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, began the Pujols Family Foundation to promote awareness, provide hope and meet tangible needs for children and families who live with Down syndrome. The Celebrity Golf Classic serves as the biggest fundraising event of the year. This tournament features professional athletes, sports personalities and entertainers.
“In 2012, the Foundation expanded its mission to encompass a national focus in addition to St. Louis, which includes Kansas City, Southern California and Nashville (where Swiftwick is located)," said Kelly Kener Quinn, special events & development director for the Pujols Family Foundation. “Partnering with Swiftwick as a product sponsor for the 2015 Pujols Family Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic is a great way to show gratitude to our special event guests while growing brand awareness within the communities the PFF serves.”
Swiftwick prides themselves in being a unique place that helps people achieve their athletic goals. The team includes people who have finished 100 mile ultras, competed in Kona, climbed in Patagonia and other amazing accomplishments. The Swiftwick team is passionate about supporting organizations who encourage healthy lifestyles as well.
