Celtic Football Club Celebrate Investors in People Success
Edinburgh, Scotland (PRWEB UK) 24 January 2014 -- CELTIC Football Club has retained the prestigious Investors in People Accreditation, the most successful framework for business improvement through people in the UK.
This represents a true commitment to employees and demonstrates a solid foundation of good practice which remains challenging and aspirational for many organisations.
Having initially gained accreditation in 2007, Celtic has now been successfully re-assessed on two occasions, in December 2010 and December 2013.
Celtic joins an exclusive group of UK employers eligible to use and display the sought after Investors in People logo and enjoy its benefits.
Celtic is the only football club in Scotland to achieve this status and one of only a handful of football clubs across the UK to do so.
Commenting on the award, Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, said: “We are delighted to once again receive this much-prized and valued affirmation of the way we look after our staff.
"Celtic colleagues have made a huge contribution in helping the team to succeed on the field and the business to flourish off it. We value all our staff highly and we fully understand just how important all our colleagues are to the Club and its ongoing success.
"All our staff, across all our operations, are important members of the wider Celtic team and contribute hugely to keeping Celtic at the top of Scottish football.
“We have high staff retention rates with many colleagues enjoying long associations with the Club. This loyalty and commitment demonstrates how much we value our staff and will enable us to go from strength to strength.
"The fact that we are currently the only professional football club in Scotland to hold this accreditation is a cause for great pride.
"However, we will not be complacent and will continue to invest in and care for our existing staff and develop new talent to ensure that we remain successful.”
Peter Russian, Chief Executive of Investors in People Scotland, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Celtic Football Club. I would like to congratulate the organisation and its people on their commitment to continuous improvement.
"Investors in People offers a flexible, practical and easy-to-use business improvement tool designed to help organisations and their people achieve their objectives. I hope that more organisations in the area will be encouraged to sharpen their competitive edge by choosing to work with us.
“I would like to commend Celtic on the tremendous commitment they have made to the wellbeing, retention and development of their staff. For a number of years the Club has made its staff a priority and on and off the pitch the results are clear.
"Celtic is a true model of good practice and I would like to congratulate the Club on all it has achieved in this area."
