Center for Discovery Hosts "Eating Disorder Recovery Is Possible" Support and Education Event
Tacoma, WA (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Center for Discovery, a national leader in residential eating disorder treatment, has announced it will host "Eating Disorder Recovery is Possible," a free support and education event for family and friends of individuals dealing with eating disorders. The event will include educational presentations by Dr. Adrianne Altman from Center for Discovery and Dr. Yolanda Evans of Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as Pepper Snider who will share her story of recovery.
This event is meant to provide critical education and support to the families and friends of individuals affected by eating disorders. Dr. Adrianne Altman of Center for Discovery and Dr. Yolanda Evans of Seattle Children's Hospital will conduct the educational segment of the event which will include information on eating disorders, treatment options, and the other resources that are available to help and support those who are struggling. In addition, Pepper Snider, who has struggled with anorexia, alcoholism and the loss of her father to cancer, will share her family’s experiences as Pepper battled an eating disorder, entered treatment and began the journey into recovery. Pepper has found purpose in sharing her story of recovery with others and spreading recovery messages throughout the community. There will be time for questions and answers at the conclusion of the presentations. The event will be held Tuesday, September 17th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at HopeSparks in Tacoma, Washington.
