Centric Chicago Named a 2017 Crain’s Best Place to Work for Minorities and Overall Best Place to Work Finalist
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 14, 2017 -- Crain’s Chicago recently recognized Centric Consulting’s Chicago team in its top 10 list of Best Places to Work for Minorities. The team was also named an overall Best Places to Work finalist out of more than 14,000 company entries.
Winners were honored at a breakfast reception the morning of Thursday, April 6 at Savage Smyth, 920 N. Franklin St.
Centric Chicago was in good company, with businesses such as Microsoft, Radio Flyer, and Braintree placing among us in the region’s top 10 companies to rank highest in the eyes of minorities.
According to Crain’s Chicago, “Flexibility, security, opportunity, recognition are all factors that staffers at best workplaces all seem to appreciate. But in survey after survey, people of color tell us they also value a handful of additional characteristics: mentorship, opportunities to advance, support, and a certain intangible sense of belonging.”
Our company culture, which focuses on creating unmatched experiences for clients and employees, is what helped us standout in this category.
“We’re honored to be recognized by Crain’s. This serves as a testament to what we’ve known all along – that we do right by our people and clients,” said Centric Consulting Vice President and Chicago Practice Lead Ted Goodman.
He added: “That way of thinking comes from our founders, who established and continue to nurture a strong culture that embraces taking care of our employees. Sometimes that means sacrificing our own needs for the needs of others. But, in the long run, it’s a better way to do business, and a better way to live life.”
Crain’s highlighted our annual holiday trips, unlimited paid time off, leadership training, and emphasis on customer service and client relationship-building over sales.
“Leadership does not push sales, rather genuine relationship-building with its clients and prospects,” a Centric employee noted in the Crain’s survey.
Hilary Lee, a Senior Manager in Chicago who supports Organizational Change Management projects, couldn’t agree more with Crain’s Chicago’s special recognition of the team.
“My leadership team cares about me, my development, my interests, and most importantly, they genuinely care if I am happy,” she said.

About the Program
According to Crain’s Chicago, each year since 2008, the publication has singled out the Chicago-area companies employees love most. This year, 14,907 people filled out surveys telling Crain’s what they liked best – and least – about their workplaces, from benefits to career paths to culture.
Two surveys were issued – one to the company, another to employees – to select award winners. The employer survey focused on issues about pay, promotions, health care and benefits, hiring practices and more. The employee portion dealt with fairness of pay, vacation time, relationships with management and co-workers, career development, culture and other day-to-day workplace issues.
To be included in the Best Places to Work for Minorities rankings, responses from employees self-identifying as members of a minority group had to make up at least 10 percent of the company’s total number of respondents. Only those employees’ survey responses were used in the analysis.
