Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 28, 2016 -- Marci McCarthy, CEO and President at T.E.N. & CEO and Chairman at ISE® Talent will be moderating two panel discussions at the first-ever National Conference of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals March 23 -24, 2016 in Washington DC. The International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) landmark event will elevate the national dialogue on the very necessary strategic, tactical and operational imperatives needed to attract and develop minority cybersecurity practitioners. The Conference will focus on the public, private, academic and legislative components necessary for engineering the pipeline of diverse practitioners critical to addressing the cross-industry cybersecurity skills shortage.
Marci McCarthy has over 20 years of business and marketing experience within the Information security sector, including founding T.E.N., an award winning technology and information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm. She is also the founder of the ISE® Programs, which has been the premier recognition and networking program for security professionals in the U.S. and Canada for over a decade.
McCarthy also has received a congressional citation from Rep. Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. (D-Ga.) in the 4th Congressional District of Georgia for her overall work in fostering greater professionalism in the IT security industry and enhancing the efforts of the private and public sectors to protect cyberspace. For her efforts, the 4th Congressional District of Georgia has named March 13, 2012 as Marci McCarthy Day.
On Wednesday, March 23 at 1:45 p.m. McCarthy will be joined by Stacey Halota, Vice President, Information Security and Privacy, Graham Holdings (formerly Washington Post Company), Larry Whiteside, Jr., Optiv and Yonesy Nunez, IT Risk and Cyber Security, Wells Fargo. She’ll moderate the panel’s discussion on “Ace’ing the BIG Cyber Interview” where each will share their experiences on interview preparations and dynamics that work.
Then on Thursday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m. McCarthy will again serve as moderator for a segment entitled, “Ask the CISOs.” Joining her for this discussion are Sarah Hall, CISO U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Stacey Halota, Sharon James, Associate Chief Communications Officer with the IRS and Taiye Limbo, CISO for the City of Atlanta. Topics will focus on emerging cyber threats and trends they are most concerned about and their challenges in hiring and promoting diverse talent.
“There is so much potential and so many opportunities for women and other minorities to excel in cybersecurity. T.E.N. and ISE® Talent are working hard to bridge the gap and foster a larger representation of women and minorities in the security profession,” McCarthy said.
Response and support for the National Conference has been overwhelmingly positive from the cybersecurity industry with an outpouring of financial support from vendors and confirmation of participation by well recognized figures from the private sector, public sector and academia.
