CFSI and MedicAlert Foundation Announce Fire Service-Based EMS Innovations Awards Application for 2014
Turlock, CA (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- The MedicAlert Foundation International and the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) are promoting the accomplishments of fire departments across the U.S. with the fourth annual Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards program. The Excellence Awards program will honor fire departments from each category of service (volunteer, combination and career) for innovations in their emergency medical services programs and practices delivered to local communities.
Fire Service-Based EMS programs that improve the delivery of emergency medical care are invited to complete an awards application. The awardees from 2013 were Montgomery County (Maryland) Fire and Rescue Service for their Emergency Cardiac Care Program, Miami-Dade (Florida) Fire Rescue for their Infection Control program and Snohomish County (Washington) Fire District # 1 for their EMS Checklist. The applications are due by March 7, 2014. The Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS Awards will be presented on May 1, 2014 at the 26th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, D.C.
