CGTrader.com Exhibits Photorealistic Images: Is It a Nikon Photoshoot or Autodesk Magic?
(PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Most of 3D designers work with 3D models in order to sell them on a marketplace or buy them at an appropriate price. At the same time they are artists. Thus, sometimes they leave all the work behind and concentrate on personal projects. Each skilled 3D designer aims to challenge himself in modeling a photorealistic rendering.
Earlier this month CGTrader.com published a collection of 35 most photorealistic renderings. Trying to figure out if it is a photo or 3D artwork can completely blow one’s mind. This process takes a huge amount of time for the designers, because they have to think about the smallest details, precise textures, colours, post-effects, proportions and forms to create an unforgettable image. This collection was widely recognized by the worldwide design sites and social media.
“The decision to start working on a photorealistic rendering is not only a challenge for 3D designer, but also a litmus of professionalism. Moreover, such collections allow to evaluate the progress of 3D design technologies. While collecting all these 3D renderings, for several times even I myself got strongly confused, because I could not be 100% sure if some of the images are just the game of computer graphics or totally real photographs. It just traps your mind,” shares the impression a founder & CEO of CGTrader.com Marius Kalytis.
3D technologies are improving faster than ever, so 3D designers must improve together with the technology. Such renderings like interiors, exteriors, architecture, still-lives, landscapes are easier to cope with, but computer-generated portraits are always more complicated. The first glance is always tricky, but when one looks closer, it may appear superficial; eyes do not possess the depth and hair does not seem alive. So, there is definitely no need to put photography into a box titled “Vestige” yet.
