(PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Pour Generously, the online wine club whose proceeds benefit charity, is attempting to take their model national via an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign that will benefit Seattle’s Ben Towne Foundation. The campaign (found here) asks wine consumers to order a single (3 bottle) delivery from their wine club to try three small production, family-owned, highly rated wines and support pediatric cancer care. The campaign runs for the next three weeks.
Pour Generously’s pilot began in Washington State in August of 2014, founded by four wine industry professionals looking to create positive social change. Sourcing wines from small production, family-owned, highly rated wineries, Pour Generously was founded under the premise that adventurous wine drinkers can not only discover new wineries, but also support underfunded charities in the process.
“We’re already drinking wine. And while we all have our favorites, there is little social currency greater than pouring friends a great new wine,” founder Ian McFarland says. “Knowing that the wine is providing treatment for pediatric cancer patients makes it even more fun.”
Ben Towne Foundation will receive 15% of every purchase from the Indiegogo campaign. The intention is to repeat those donations quarterly on future Wine Club purchases. In a short time, the regular purchases of adventurous wine drinkers can make a significant impact on the organization.
“We’ve had the good fortune of spending time with the Towne Family,” McFarland says of the Seattle-based Foundation. “As parents—we shutter to think of what they’ve gone through in losing Ben to neuroblastoma, but we stand in awe, listening to their genuine focus on saving the next patient. Most would be living in the past—and that would be completely understandable—but they choose to create a legacy for Ben by ensuring that other families don’t go through what they have. We should all be so giving.”
The campaign will run through April 9th.
