Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Begin Paperless Flyer Distribution with Peachjar
Charlotte, North Carolina (PRWEB) February 09, 2015 -- Peachjar, a San Diego based technology company, is helping schools across the nation improve their parent and community engagement. Today, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools announced the launch of Peachjar for digital flyer distribution to parents.
“We are very excited to partner with Peachjar,” said Kathryn Block, Chief Communications Officer for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. “Peachjar is a triple win for our school district. It reduces paper and printing costs for schools, decreases paper waste for parents, and aligns with our efforts to keep parents well informed of school events and community enrichment opportunities that support academic achievement.”
By using this new system, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools expects to eliminate the need to print nearly 28 million sheets of paper per year – over 3,000 trees. Additionally, the school district no longer incurs the administrative burden and costs associated with paper flyer distribution.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools implemented Peachjar’s system for free since local enrichment and community organizations across the nation pay a small service fee to distribute their school-approved eflyers and post them online. These eflyers are sent directly to parents who see them as visually engaging images right on their smartphone or computer screen. Parents click to sign up their children for youth sports, enrichment programs, and community events.
About Peachjar:
Peachjar was founded in 2011 in response to the billions of paper flyers being carried home from schools each year in children’s backpacks. The company has helped schools across the nation improve their school-to-home communication by delivering eflyers directly to parents. Check out Peachjar’s one-minute animatic to learn more.
