ChartaCloud's ChartaCares to Offer "MEDi" Humanoid Robot
Portsmouth, New Hampshire (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- ChartaCloud Technologies, LLC ("ChartaCloud") today announced that it will offer MEDi the humanoid robot from RXRobots. MEDi is used for pediatric pain and stress management helping children cope with medical procedures. MEDi will be offered as part of ChartaCloud’s ChartaCares service which provides health care technologies, solutions and services.
MEDi was developed by RxRobots of Calgary, Alberta, Canada using the humanoid robot technology from Aldebaran Robots. MEDi performs as a pain coach, companion and educator in pediatric health care scenarios experienced by children in hospitals, hospices, pharmacies, clinics and schools.
“MEDi has been clinically proven to reduce the pain suffered by children during stressful medical or surgical procedures by 50%,” said Dr. Tanya Beran, senior scientific officer for RxRobots. MEDi has been recognized by industry technology researcher Frost & Sullivan with its 2015 Best Practices Award for North American New Product Innovation.
“We are very excited to be able to offer MEDi to pediatric health care providers in the U.S. to reduce the stress and pain children can face in healthcare situations. When you learn that parents will actually drive greater distances to have their child cared for in a MEDi empowered environment, you know its meaningfulness. Being able to offer MEDi is a major step forward in our strategic efforts to be at the forefront of offering innovative “best-of-breed” technologies in home care, telehealth and remote patient monitoring. The future of health care will be increasingly driven by innovative technologies that improve quality of care, reduce hospital re-admissions and of course contribute to a reduction in costs,” said Lauryn Schimmel, managing director of ChartaCloud.
ChartaCloud currently offers “Remote Patient Monitoring In-a-Box” an offering developed by health care leader Welch-Allyn and Hewlett-Packard and remote therapy via a visually interactive management system that aids knee and hip replacement recipients with their surgical recovery. ChartaCloud’s ForMedical Cloud service provides a comprehensive suite of foundational HIPAA compliant IT technologies for home care providers.
“MEDi is an extremely capable and flexible child care engagement platform that is customized to the specific needs and protocols of the healthcare provider. Working in collaboration with ChartaCares expands the localized, full service solution development and support for MEDi,” said Mark Williams, president and CEO, RxRobots.
“It is clear due to the ever growing shortage of qualified health care professionals that robotic patient support is here to stay in health care. ChartaCares is committed to being a leading provider of innovative healthcare technologies,” Schimmel concluded.
