Che Prasad Releases New Single "Christmastime in the Apocalypse" for the Holiday Season
San Anselmo, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2013 -- Bay Area singer/songwriter Che Prasad will release his first ever holiday single, "Christmastime in the Apocalypse," on December 1, 2013, just in time for the holiday season. Guaranteed to lighten the mood during the most stressful time of the year, the alternative Christmas song promises to become an instant classic.
"Since the songs on my holiday playlist have been more or less the same for the last few years, I decided it was time for a new Christmas classic," Prasad says. "Being obsessed with classic Christmas TV specials from my childhood, I imagined how characters like Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch and the Little Drummer Boy might fare in a zombie apocalypse."
And, who wouldn’t instantly feel the magic of the holidays with lyrics like these: "That scratching on the rooftop/Maybe reindeer? Don’t you wish/It’s just Christmastime /In the Apocalypse."
A known zombiephile, Prasad found inspiration in the "happy" holiday tradition of Black Friday, known for mall tramplings, shootings, deaths and rock-bottom prices. "With the rise of zombies—at least in popular culture—I started thinking about what the holidays might feel like during a zombie apocalypse. Sure the malls would be overrun by the undead, but would it really be any more chaotic or dangerous than Black Friday?"
As a Yuletide treat for fans and families alike, Prasad will celebrate the release of his new song, as well as the North Bay premier of songs from his recent album "Shiva Me Timbers", at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA on Saturday, December 7, during his live music brunch/holiday show. Special guest Alex McMurray, the celebrated singer-songwriter from New Orleans, will join Prasad at the free, all-ages afternoon show, which starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. For more information on the show, visit http://www.sweetwatermusichall.com/calendar/live-music-brunch-che-prasad-cd-release-show-special-guest-alex-mcmurray.
