Chef Amy Sins' Apple Flatbread Pizza to be Featured at PMA Food Summit in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (PRWEB) October 18, 2017 -- Chef Amy Sins' recipe for Apple Ring Flatbread Pizza is a finalist in the competition to showcase delicious on-the-go foods in New Orleans. The mission: use Crunch Pak Apple Rings to develop an inventive, new recipe that engages the senses and appeals to both professional chefs and families.
Langlois Chef Amy Sins Apple Ring Flatbread Pizza was selected among hundreds as a top 10 finalist in the competition. As a finalist, Sins’ recipe will be entered in a competition to be judged in the Sensory Experience contest at the PMA Fresh Summit Convention + Expo in New Orleans (October 19-21, 2017).
As part of the recipe development process, Sins engaged one of the toughest audiences to please—kids—to assess more than 40 dishes before settling on a winner. The final dish—Apple Ring Flatbread Pizza—tops fresh flatbread with Crunch Pak Apple Rings, prosciutto, garlic, arugula, goat cheese and apple pepper jelly.
The recipe includes Sins’ “secret” weapon–her mother’s coveted pepper jelly. “It’s a tribute to my mother, who passed away last year,” says Sins. “I really enjoyed the challenge of developing an apple pepper jelly around her recipe, and I’m proud to share it with everyone in her honor.”
