Chem-Trend Offers HAPs-free Portfolio for Composites Manufacturers to Comply with Tighter Regulation
Howell, Mich. (PRWEB) August 10, 2016 -- Chem-Trend, a global leader in the development and production of high-performance release agents, purging compounds and other ancillary molding products, today announced additional health, safety and environment (HSE) benefits for its Chemlease® EZ Series product line, including semi-permanent sealers, release agents and cleaners for all composites applications worldwide.
Currently available, the EZ Series already complies with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), which aim to further reduce hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) that are known or suspected to cause cancer or other serious health effects.
In the coming months, the EPA NESHAP initiative will expand with tighter compliance monitoring, Europe’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) standards will include updated regulatory lists, and Thailand’s emissions efforts are also expected to increase.
“With tighter compliance for air emissions expected next year – whether from the EPA, REACH or other governing body – composites manufacturers are in a position to create cleaner and safer work conditions while reducing environmental impacts,” said Amanda Pugh, business development director, Rubber and Composites, Chem-Trend. “With a strong sense of responsibility for the impact we have on the communities in which we work and live, our teams are dedicated to developing environmentally conscious processing aids, and Chem-Trend’s Chemlease® EZ Series provides a proactive solution to improve quality of life for everyone.”
Beyond a HAPs-free formula, the EZ Series also delivers an array of application and production benefits for preparing composite mold surfaces for increased efficiency and quality. The EZ Series product line:
- Covers the entire mold all at once instead of in stages
- Provides multiple releases between applications
- Decreases labor time and costs
- Achieves excellent gloss
- Eliminates the use of wax for less mold fouling
- Offers high-temperature stability
- Reduces porosity problems
- Does not build up on mold surfaces
