Cherney Microbiological Services, Ltd. Announces Addition Of Dr. Kathy Knutson As Project Manager
Green Bay, WI (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Cherney Microbiological Services, Ltd., is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Kathy Knutson as Project Manager. Kathy joins Cherney’s team with over 30 years of experience within academia and the food industry including 3 years as Outreach Manger for the National Center for Food Safety & Technology. She has worked extensively with universities, FDA, and the dairy industry after earning her master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Minnesota, respectively.
In 1992, Kathy worked as the lead instructor for the associate degree program, Food and Environmental Laboratory Technician, where she met Debra Cherney, Owner/President/Director of Microbiology at Cherney Micro who served on the program’s advisory committee. She spent 7 years as an instructor within the Wisconsin Technical College System before relocating to Chicago and joining the school system where she taught food science, biology and culinary arts. She has also designed and taught industry training and short courses related to microbiology and food safety for 10 years.
As Project Manager, Kathy is responsible for execution and delivery of long-term projects, research of new instrumentation and methods, and both internal and external technical training. Her leadership and vast industry experience will benefit Cherney’s customers as a seasoned technical resource.
