Cherry Bekaert Adds Valuation Services Team to Charlotte Office
(PRWEB) August 04, 2016 -- Cherry Bekaert LLP (“the Firm”), a Top 25 accounting firm focused on providing assurance, tax and advisory services, has expanded its national valuation services practice with the addition of an experienced team of professionals who have spent the past four years working together in the valuation and business modeling practice at a Big Four accounting firm.
Joining the Firm as a Principal, Zain Ahmed possesses over 15 years of valuation experience. Ahmed has managed and executed more than 300 engagements involving valuations of business enterprises and shareholders’ equity, real estate, inventory, and other assets for transaction pricing, financing, regulatory reporting and tax purposes, including fairness opinions, common stock valuations, purchase price allocations (ASC 805 and IFRS 3R) and goodwill impairment (ASC 350, IAS 36). An Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation, Ahmed has overseen transactions ranging between $3 million and greater than $40 billion, including cross-border deals in over a dozen countries.
Daniel Welborn joins the Firm as a Senior Manager with more than 10 years of valuation-related experience, serving clients in a variety of industries. Welborn is an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation and a Certified Public Accountant experienced with the valuation of business enterprises, legal entities, equity securities, inventory and intangible assets including customer relationships, trade names, non-compete agreements, developed technology, IPR&D, contracts, and assembled workforce for financial reporting purposes under ASC 350, 805 and 820 as well as tax strategy and management planning purposes.
Kate Waller joins the Firm as a Manager. With approximately seven years of experience, she has performed valuations of business enterprises, intangible assets and corporate securities for financial reporting and tax planning purposes. In addition, Waller has managed valuation and professional service agreement engagements, acted as a technical reviewer for assurance clients with valuation services performed in association with financial reporting and tax regulations, and constructed financial forecasts and valuation models. She has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst® Program and is a Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers.
