Chevron Executive Betsy Hosick Named Vice Chair of Network of Executive Women
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Elizabeth "Betsy" Hosick, general manager, procurement for downstream, technology and services for Chevron Corporation, has been named vice chair of the Network of Executive Women, the retail and consumer goods industry's largest women's leadership organization. The San Ramon, California-based executive formerly served as the Network's board secretary.
"The Network has been fortunate to tap into Betsy’s wide-ranging experience and depth of knowledge for years,” said NEW President and CEO Joan Toth. "She epitomizes the value of women’s leadership. As board vice chair, she’ll influence the Network’s strategic direction as a learning and networking community and continue to act as one of the Network’s most effective industry ambassadors.”
Hosick's long career in the convenience and petroleum industry includes jobs in human resources, field operations, marketing, merchandising, distribution and procurement/supply supply chain management. She joined Chevron in 1996, where her roles have included general manager, strategic capability; general manager of midstream procurement; manager of c-store retailing; vice president of Foodini’s Inc.; and global group category manager, marketing.
She has received numerous awards, including Chevron’s coveted Chairman’s Award recognizing her as "Better than the Best.” She has also received industry awards recognizing her as an innovative leader in category management.
Hosick steps into a role previously held by Annie Zipfel, division vice president at REI. "In her roles at Target Corporation and REI, Annie led our brand development efforts as part of the NEW marketing and communications committee,” Toth said. "She’s an outstanding leader and we’ll miss her day-to-day input, but look forward to her carrying on the Network’s work of recruiting, developing and advancing women within in her organization.”
