Chicago Area Cheese Shop Marché Prepares for Summer With Extended Hours, Outdoor Seating, New Menu Items
Glen Elly, IL (PRWEB) June 09, 2016 -- As warmer weather reaches the Midwest, Marché (http://www.marche496.com), a cheese shop in downtown Glen Ellyn, Ill., has extended its hours and added outdoor seating and menu items for enjoying alfresco or anywhere.
“Now that the days are longer, we’re staying open a bit later each evening -- until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays,” explained Jill Foucré, who owns Marché as well as Marcel’s Culinary Experience (http://www.marcelsculinaryexperience.com), just two doors away. “This gives people more time to enjoy a cheese plate and glass of wine at one of our outdoor tables, or pick up one of our new picnic boxes to take to an outdoor concert or sporting event.”
The shop’s corner location in a bustling area of historic downtown Glen Ellyn is perfect for people-watching or just relaxing, she added.
Marché is offering three variations of “picnic boxes” (French, Spanish and American), each $35 and designed to serve two with artisan cheeses, accoutrements, and chocolate or other sweet. Flatware, plates and napkins are included “so there’s nothing to carry home,” said Foucré. The shop even sells paired wines for each box to create the perfect picnic.
Solo diners can order “lunch boxes” from Marché that are available 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Priced at $8 & $8.50, there are two variations available – with and without meat – featuring assortments of cheeses, fruit, salami, olives, nuts and crackers.
Both picnic boxes and lunch boxes are available for in-store pickup only. Advance ordering is recommended -- preferably at least 24 hours for picnic boxes, according to Foucré.
Marché is continuing two popular promotions throughout the summer. Its Throw It Back Thursday series from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. features a rotating assortment of complimentary cheese and wine tastings -- a different theme each week. And every Sunday, Marché offers $5 glasses of wine.
